Findlay statement: "Effective immediately, Trevor Halford, Claire Rattee, and John Rustad will no longer serve as members of the Conservative Party of British Columbia caucus." Rustad led the party from 2023 until resigning in December 2025 after a caucus revolt.

Took over as leader of Centre B.C. after Mike Bernier stepped down, bringing his six-MLA group with him. Centre B.C. is not a recognized party in the Assembly, which still records all eight as Independent.

Resigned from caucus "effective immediately", telling Kerry-Lynne Findlay she had lost confidence in the leadership's willingness to listen. On the removal of Halford, Rattee and Rustad: "To me, it is beyond the pale of common sense to remove experienced voices rather than find a way to listen to them." She would not say whether she will join CentreBC.

Donegal Wilson becomes the seventh member, after Teresa Wat. The group plans to sit as a caucus when the legislature resumes in October.

Claire Rattee is one of the two. Hours earlier she published a blog post criticising Findlay for skipping caucus meetings and not reaching out to members after nine MLAs left.

Party president Mauro Francis is contacting those on the list. They are told former executive director Elaine Allan, acting without authorization, used party funds to hire an investigator to find who was leaking to a social media account called the Findlay Files.

Trevor Halford, Claire Rattee and John Rustad are recorded as no longer affiliated. Findlay: "with an election potentially on the horizon, our focus must be on British Columbians and defeating David Eby's NDP government." Rattee disputes the removal and says she is not going anywhere.

Mike Bernier steps down as leader so Milobar can take the role. Milobar's six MLAs plus Elenore Sturko join. Centre B.C. is not a recognized party in the Assembly and all eight remain Independent in the official record.

Findlay announced it herself in a social media post on the Sunday afternoon: "This was not an easy decision, but I believe it is the right one for our movement and our province." She was elected leader on 30 May 2026 and resigned four months later, on the same day Linda Hepner became the thirteenth MLA to leave the caucus since that vote. The party won 44 seats in 2024 and 24 are recorded here today. Findlay holds no seat, so the standings are unchanged. She remains the Conservative candidate in the Abbotsford-Mission byelection on 26 September; nominations closed on 5 September, so the ballot is set. No interim leader has been named.
